Job Description
As a Virology Scientist, you will contribute to the implementation of experimental design and data interpretation required for assay development, validation, and maintenance of clinical assays to detect and quantify biomarkers. Furthermore, you will be:
- Providing scientific and technical support for internal and external assay activities, including development, validation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and risk management.
- Ensuring proper maintenance of assay history files and secure storage of analytical plans, raw data, and statistical reports.
- Contributing to experimental design implementation in the lab and data interpretation with statisticians and senior scientists.
- Managing the operational and technical aspects of assays for vaccine projects, supporting limited technologies in collaboration with assay owners.
- Improving assay quality and facilitating the integration of new technologies.
- Supporting cost-effectiveness initiatives and providing technical expertise within the Vaccine Clinical Lab & Assay Portfolio (CL&AP).
- Developing expertise and driving process improvements in clinical lab operations and assay technologies, focusing on quality and performance.
- Ensuring compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) guidelines, regulations, and internal policies for all activities.
- Collaborating with lab technicians and managers to:
- Implement assay development and validation plans.
- Execute troubleshooting strategies and maintenance (e.g., critical reagents management).
- Monitor assay performance (QC charts, trending analysis, and panels).
- Ensure timely clinical testing and data release milestones.
- Oversee data checks and releases.
Qualifications
- PhD in Sciences (Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biotechnology, or Pharmacy) or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in assay development with a strong focus on quality culture.
- Expertise in biological sciences and technologies, including automation.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques such as neutralization assays, cell culture, ELISA, and immunoassays.
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.

- Full-time (40hours/week) Monday – Friday job.
- A Permanent contract with flexible working hours. (Can start between 7am and 9:30am)
