Job Description
The overall objective of this position is to assist the Technical Accounting & External Audits Senior Manager in driving the company’s accounting and external audit compliance. In this role, you will ensure that our external audits are managed in line with Group guidelines in terms of procedures, scope, timing budget and deliverables, as well as assisting in enhancing the Group’s accounting (IFRS) and internal controls framework.
In particular, you will:
- Ensure that our external audit firm appointments, including terms & conditions and fees, are in line with Group guidelines and standards.
- Ensure that all statutory audits are completed on-time and in line with Group guidelines.
- Provide oversight to the external audit fee approval process in our Global procurement system (Coupa).
- Monitor local statutory audit completion rates and work with local finance teams to mitigate potential audit issues and deficiencies.
- Engage in discussions on complex technical accounting and internal control topics.
- Participate in and facilitate the Group external financial and non-financial (ESG/CSRD) reporting process.
- Participate in Group-wide accounting and internal controls projects.
- Assist the responsible senior manager and/or senior finance director with frequent updates to the broader Finance organisation and Audit Committee on external audits and technical accounting topics.
- Participate in any mitigation process relating to internal and external audit findings.
- Participate in regular updates of the Group Accounting Manual.
- Participate in improving and developing Group accounting related training materials.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Auditing.
- 2-3 years of relevant professional finance experience, preferably in auditing and accounting (senior accountant / senior auditor in an audit practice) of multinational and/or listed company(ies).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, ISAs, GAAS.
- Solid project & change manager, with a natural drive to challenge the status quo, and the ability to initiate & lead change that generates sustainable results.
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-starter who takes initiative, can work independently and takes on necessary responsibility.
- High level of pragmatism and a ‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ attitude.
- Acts in a way that fosters inclusion, respect and ethical behaviour.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment and a decentralised, multinational organisation.
