Job Description

About the IT Program you will be involved in: 

The Program consists of multiple internally developed web applications and a range of additional services (reporting services, data services, business intelligence services), supporting our internal customers - the Eurofins laboratories worldwide - in their day to day activities related to sales and production processes of the analytical services offered to Eurofins customers.

The Program is at the heart of the Eurofins strategy enabling efficient cross-selling between laboratories. Components of the Program and its data are used by a wide range of Eurofins applications making it a key Program within the international Eurofins Group.

Overall objectives: 

Following Eurofins growth and process standardisation activities, we are looking for an IT Business Analyst intern within a team responsible for an in-house developed application playing a central role within the Eurofins’ Sales and Production processes.

The primary goal of this internship is to play a crucial role in enhancing the precision of our existing documentation and revamping documents to meet new standards and requirements. You’ll be involved in crafting detailed user story descriptions and defining acceptance criteria for new features, tracking their development, conducting tests, and ensuring comprehensive end-user documentation.

Specific assignments:

  • Create and update documentation: Assist in writing clear and well-structured user stories, including their mock-ups and detailed acceptance criteria. Support the creation and updating of documentation for bugs and new functionalities.
  • Scrum Team member: Follow up on user stories within the scrum teams. Assist in preparing and leading various scrum meetings, and provide support to developers and QA team members during the implementation phase.
  • Stakeholder alignment: Help align with key stakeholders on design proposals and gather feedback.
  • Second line support assistance: Provide support to the second line of application support as needed.
  • Bug and change request management: Assist in managing bug reports and requests for changes.
  • Release qualification assistance: Support the qualification of releases by working closely with the program's release management team and key stakeholders.
  • End user documentation management: Help manage and maintain end-user documentation such as online help, release notes, and customer forums.
  • Interface Contract Updates: Revise interface contracts using the proper templates.
  • Backlog clean-up: Assist in cleaning up user stories and requirements backlogs, including creating queries and reviewing them with the Product Owner.
  • SQL query creation and organization: Create a clean and organized shared folder for storing SQL queries, including developing guidelines for file naming and commenting.

Initial Education Background:   

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.  

Language skills and level expected:

  • English (fluent written and oral communication) required.
  • Other European languages (NL, FR, DE) are a plus.

Type and duration of previous experience:

Candidate having had an initial experience within software development, either as a functional analyst or business analyst is a plus.

Experience in an international environment is an asset.

Technical knowledge:

  • Experience with Scrum is a plus
  • Knowledge of Service-Oriented-Architecture is a strong asset
  • Understanding of and experience with UML is an asset
  • Knowledge of SQL is an asset
  • Experience with software development management tools (e.g. MS Azure DevOps) is an asset
