Job Description
This individual will work independently or as part of a team to collect environmental samples for field and/or laboratory analysis.
Collects, packages, and ships all types of samples as required by Field Services projects. Includes groundwater, surface water, wastewater, drinking water, air, soil, sludge, wipes, paint chips and other matrices.
When needed, support drilling activities by assisting Licensed Driller either on or off-site.
Analyze samples by established methods using reagents and/or instrumentation.
Ensure all data generated meets quality control standards.
Maintain equipment and instrumentation in proper working order.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a valid driver’s license; drive light/medium-duty trucks to job sites as required.
- Perform all duties related to sampling projects; pre, during and post-event.
- Assists with routine sample preparation and/or analyses, generally on site, in support of mobile laboratory operations or screening surveys.
- Help ensure materials inventory is sufficient for upcoming project requirements.
- When needed, assist with drilling projects as general laborer or in the procurement of materials.
- Perform field analyses in accordance with analytical methods and EAI’s QA/QC procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of all field activities.
- Present a positive image of Eastern Analytical, Inc. at all times.
- Troubleshoot equipment and/or procedural deficiencies.
- Multitask, problem solve, exercise good situational awareness and judgement.
- Department of Transportation (DOT) Certificate is required for shipping hazardous chemicals within 90 days of date of hire.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment in compliance with EAI’s Health and Safety Program.
- Demonstrate safe work practices and avoid unsafe behaviors.
- Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Drive defensively, avoid preventable accidents and always wear a seat belt.
- Understand that working safely is a condition of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Tasks require physical agility and manual dexterity; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, brace.
- Work requires the ability to lift a minimum of 80+ pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods or work at a steady pace on uneven terrain.
- Good hearing and vison is required for personal safety and performance of duties.
- Work occurs in all weather, in all seasons, throughout New England.
- Driving is required daily; periodic overnight travel.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Science background (including chemistry, geology, biology, environmental science or similar)
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements, conditions or schedule
- Strong attention to detail
- Sound organizational and communication skills
- Basic mechanical skills
- Current computer skills
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Must have a valid US drivers license without recent incident.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
- College degree – BA/BS in a science field preferred.

Compensation:$16-20/Hour (DOE)
Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
