Job Description

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

Eurofins is currently accelerating the deployment of standard processes across its Laboratories. A key aspect is related to its Information Systems (EurIS) in which the central and regional web-based Marketing & Offer applications ComLIMS are essentials.

The main objective of this position is to join the ComLIMS Development Team (70 persons on and off-shore) to support both technical evolutions and better business needs coverage on select ComLIMS functions.

ComLIMS leverages UML modelling, recent Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio 2022, C#, and MS SQL Server), SOA Integration patterns (REST, messaging) and modern frontend technologies (Angular, ….)

 

The new Front-end Technical Architect is expected to:

  • Act as experienced Application Architect, to analyse needs, propose and challenge solutions, improvements, and help them being implemented, to the satisfaction of the teams, management and ultimately businesses served.
  • Contribute to the delivery of high quality ComLIMS software by oneself and together with the team (design, code, tests, etc.),
  • Embrace anytime high quality engineering and guidelines of the target solutions, 
  • Embrace Agile practices (Scrum, etc.) and well-known modelling practices (UML)
  • Develop working relationships within the ComLIMS teams (Business Analysis, UX designer, other Architects, Scrum teams, etc.) and wider in Eurofins IT community / select Eurofins user groups.
  • Part of the ComLIMS development team, he will be responsible for developing, maintaining and standardizing the UI components for applications as needed (design system).

 

 

SPECIFIC ASSIGNMENTS:

  • As a baseline, care of any visual and technical topic transversal to the Applications (consultant for Business Analysts, advisor for Developers, coach for Senior Engineer, discussing the interfaces / requirements with other teams, etc.), with the primary goal to help designing at best to cover the needs, coming back to actual needs when solutions are proposed, but also considering the true constraints and challenging the others,
  • Guidelines and Best practices - Ensure that Guidelines and best practices are well defined (conventions), clearly communicated (training, workshops, peer-programming etc.) and followed-up by all the scrum teams.
  • Technical Design - Become more gradually fully empowered and ultimately responsible of the technical architecture of every frontend component of the Application; drive any changes in term of technologies or practices by defining the targets and the transitions. Keeping a minimal but real documentation level. (Review, audit, etc.) As such, act as internal coordinator of the architecture stakeholders for the Application.
  • Hands-on / Bring specific contributions to projects according to the priorities defined by Management related to environment, security, performance, technology POC, functional studies etc.  In particular you own the Design system and ensure each team is using it according to the guidelines you defined
  • Roadmap and vision: Support the Product Owner and Development Team Manager on the roadmap management (complexity, delay, cost, iterations, transitions, etc.) in order to avoid misunderstandings, around risks (including future maintenance) or oversized estimations. 

 

Qualifications

  • You have a strong working knowledge of Angular (preferably v16 or higher).
  • You have a solid working knowledge of developing web components using latest and best technologies and best practices. 
  • You have a strong working knowledge of existing design systems and component libraries (Bootstrap, Material, primeNG, …) 
  • In terms of technology, you have a strong working knowledge of Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3 and CSS preprocessor such as SAAS.
  • You have a strong working knowledge of libraries such as NgRX and RXJS
  • You have solid working experience with unit testing via Karma/Jasmine
