Job Description

For our location in Leiden, we are looking for an enthusiastic senior operator to join our pilot plant team. As part of this team, you will be responsible for carrying out the USP and DSP processes for the production of biologics. You will also be responsible for supporting the team lead, training team members and communicating with project leads. The team produces the first batches of new products to scale and are a corner stone in the pipeline toward new medicines.

You will be required to adhere to work in a clean room under GMP guidelines. During the DSP cycles you will be required to work some evening and night shifts including weekends. Your activities will include:

  • Medium/buffer preparation;
  • Assembly and disassembly of bioreactors of 250L, 500L and 1000L size;
  • Upstream processing (Fermentation) of various cell lines from preculture to harvest and all associated tasks;
  • Downstream processing of the products using for example POD filtration, column chromatography, Planova filtration and UFDF;
  • Analysis of samples from the production process to ensure compliance to the specifications is being met;
  • Documentation and data entry  and review following GMP guidelines;

Qualifications

  • MLO or HBO (BSc) degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related sciences;
  • 3-5 years experience with USP/DSP processes in a production environment is preferred;
  • You enjoy working in a team and communicate well;
  • You are flexible and proactive;
  • You are accurate, and have great attention to detail;
  • You enjoy volunteering your ideas and working on continuously improving your environment.
  • You are fluent in English (Spoken/written)
