• • Support process development team with platform development with focusing encapsulation process and hydrogel sphere product understanding.
  • Characterize mechanical and structural characterization of hydrogel spheres to understand critical product success factors (e.g. size distribution, surface topology, mechanical strength, flexibility, pore size, etc.).
  • Design experiment to identify process steps and process parameters that impact key product characteristics and develop control strategy around such.
  • Collaborate with other team members and cross-functional teams to ensure the completion of projects.
  • Design experiments, evaluate data, interpret results, propose next steps, and maintain good notebook records.
  • Present data in project team meetings

Comply with standard laboratory practices and company policies 

• A PhD in a biomaterials, medical devices, or polymers focused field
• Experience with assay techniques to assess mechanical properties of hydrogels and medical devices a plus
• Experience with cell encapsulation a plus
• Attention to detail, particularly as it relates to the performance of assays.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and collaborative working habits
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
