Please note this is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week in one of the following shift:

- Sunday: 09:00 - 20:30,  Monday: 10:00 - 20:30, Tuesday: 10:00 - 20:30, Wednesday: 10:00 - 18:00. 

- Wednesday 13:30 - 20:30, Thursday: 10:00 - 20:30, Friday: 10:00 - 20:30, Saturday: 09:00 - 20:30. 

This role will be working in a Food Testing laboratory, processing of all samples pre-incubation. The main duties will include:

• Undertaking all tasks within the main laboratory appropriate to the level of training given to you by team leaders and management.
• Registration, preparation and analysis of samples as required.
• Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work, ensuring that all relevant information concerning samples is recorded, that samples are handled correctly, and that all necessary records and quality data are maintained.
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed throughout the day
• Maintain turnaround time at >99%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved. 
• Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner. 
• Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
• To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
• Maintain a clean as you go mentality
• Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.
• A flexible approach to work will be required to assist other departments as and when required
• Assist with continuous improvement within the microbiology department. 

• Educated to GCSE level, or equivalent. 
• Experience in working in part of a team. 
• Good organisation and time management.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to self motivate.
