We are currently sourcing a Senior Chromatography Laboratory Technician, Food Chemistry, why not consider joining our team in Cork.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main responsibilities will include:

Undertaking day-to-day effective, accurate and efficient processing of workload in the food chemistry laboratory and performing tasks assigned by the Team Lead/Laboratory Manager

• Adhering to regulations and laboratory policies regarding health and safety and to maintain a clean and hygienic working environment.
• Carrying out laboratory tests to validate the new methods in the Food Chemistry Laboratory and perform tasks assigned by their manager.
• Handling and testing samples for various dairy and nutritional tests according to documented procedures, including attention to sample preparation, temperature control, storage and prevention of cross-contamination.
• Maintaining accurate and systematic records of testing
• To have a sound knowledge of relevant documents within the Quality system including SOPs, Quality Manual, and relevant methods applicable to the post
• Have an active role in developing the capability and range of testing provided by the Laboratory to support profitable growth.
• Reporting any faults to the Team Lead/Laboratory Supervisor
• Participate in the training programme, undergoing further training as required and participating in schemes to ensure ongoing competence.
• Additional duties as required by the Senior Staff to fulfil the laboratory's requirements and demands.
• Complying with all aspects of Eurofins H&S policy

• Degree level qualification in Food Science, Analytical Chemistry or other relevant subject
• Extensive practical analytical chemistry and instrumentation experience (>3 years) ideally in a high-volume contract laboratory or food industry is preferable.
• Technically minded with an aptitude for working with Instrumentation
• Very strong technical, troubleshooting, report writing, and statistical skills would be an advantage.
• Practical analytical skills and theoretical knowledge of modern lab instruments are desirable.
• Record of ongoing professional development
• Previous experience working within an accredited contract testing laboratory or food industry laboratory environment is preferred but full training will be provided.
• Thorough understanding of relevant quality systems and accreditation requirements
• Good keyboard skills and experience with LIMS Systems, MS Office packages in particular Excel.
• Good standard of written and spoken English and numeracy skills.
