Job Description
Position Responsibilities:
- Verification of sample submissions to Quality Control
- Documentation of sample transactions in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Handling, storage, and organization of samples
- Delivering samples to QC laboratories for testing as required
- Interacting with outside customers and functional peer groups
- Fulfilling sample pull requests
- Compliance with all pertinent regulatory agency requirements
- Conducting temperature, environmental, and/or CO2 monitoring.
- Preparation of samples for shipment
- Performing sample inventory and disposal
- Ensuring compliance with SOPs; reports any quality or other anomalies through the Deviation Notification and Resolution system
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Sample Management Specialists in a regulated facility
- Coordinates, supports, and monitors performance of team through quality metrics while ensuring client deadlines are met
- Coordinates with client contacts to communicate status of deliverables, determine priorities, and set timelines.
- Set individual and team goals to develop the scope of work and responsibilities of the team
- Manage time off and payroll entries of the team
- May participate in new hire interviews
- Supports the on-boarding process of new employees
- Participates in training of other employees.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge cGMP is a plus
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Life Sciences or related degree
- Thrive working in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multitask
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship is required
Additional Information
Position is full-time, this role is 1st Shift either on a Wednesday-Saturday or Sunday-Wednesday| 6am - 4:30 pm schedule . . Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY are encouraged to apply. Compensation is $26.00-$32.00 per hour based on experience.
