Job Description
Under general direction, the Project Manager Associate communicates with clients in a professional and timely manner to achieve and maintain a strong customer relationship; proactively guides and tracks the progress of small and large, complex project completion A to Z, initiates meetings with all lab personnel involved with successful project completion; and provides customer voice companywide, escalating issues to management when necessary. This position requires exceptional ability to prioritize duties efficiently with a proactive approach, attention to issues important to all internal and external parties, ability to listen and persuade others to aid in the quest for desired outcomes while maintaining an approachable, open demeanor with all project related team mates. The Project Manager Associate will also actively participate and be accountable for the project management functions as outlined below:
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform all project liaison functions needed for goal achievement between the clients, sales team, laboratory, and the finance team;
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to routinely call on existing and potential clients;
- Independently manage multiple customers and their projects ;
- Project management from A to Z, including contract execution, project setup, project execution, and result achieved evaluation;
- Effectively use customer knowledge and competitive information to position products and determine pricing;
- Respond professionally and timely to client inquiries, handle simple to complicated technical explanations; communicate and escalate issues as needed to appropriate team leader, manager or director; ensure client is kept up-to-date on status;
- Set up and maintain accurate and complete account information, contact logs and project profiles in the Client Service Module of ATLAS and relay project information to the laboratory in a timely, effective manner;
- Read the contact log of the Sales group and Project Mangers; take initiative to enact any process improvement measures or address client concerns in a timely manner; follow up with client with appropriate sense of urgency; escalate issues to appropriate management team members as needed;
- Ensure variance tables are complete and project requirement tables are prepared accurately prior to the laboratory initiating work;
- Routinely lead cross team meetings to ensure complete project understanding before project arrives and during project phases as needed;
- Utilize LIMS to manage project accuracy and status;
- Set up media shipment guidelines, and provide or seek out appropriate personnel for technical support to the clients and/or sales staff;
- Challenge current systems to ensure Eurofins Air Toxics is meeting client needs in a cost effective and efficient manner. Provide input and opinion that impact all areas of the customer service goals established;
- Proactively provide technical information to clients pertaining to equipment, regulatory information, and analytical approaches.
- Generate quotes as needed
- Proactively participate in collection activities ;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS degree in science or environmental field required; previous environmental industry experience or equivalent preferred;
- At least one year of project management experience directly related to handling A to Z (contract to project wrap up) functions, involving multiple departments is preferred
- Desire to spend majority of time in the office, utilizing the telephone and email as primary communication tools;
- Knowledge of analytical considerations and/or compound data such as vapor pressure, polarity, chemical reactivity, standard preparation techniques, and column and detector selection is desired in order to impart a technical understanding when working with clients;
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral;
- Prior inside or outside sales or customer service experience with knowledge of the sales cycle and required documentation;
- Excellent organization skills to manage multiple projects; maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Knowledge of and ability to utilize various computer programs, including Word and Excel;
- Consistent and professional approach to problem solving in an time-sensitive, production-oriented environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork, working closely with a variety of departments and maintain strong working relationships;
- Able to travel as needed; and
- Able to perform the physical requirements of the job, examples: sitting for up to 8 hours per day, using computer and telephone for prolonged periods.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand and move from place to place within the facilities. The employee is occasionally required to push handcarts with objects on board weighing up to 50 pounds and lift up to 15 pounds. Lifting of objects in excess of 15 pounds will require authorized personnel or team lifting. The employee is also required to reach items above and below standard desk or table level.

Compensation range: $26 - $30 per hour.
