Eurofins is currently recruiting for a Facilities Manager to join the team in Dungarvan on a full time permanent basis.

The Maintenance Specialist will assist the Facilities Manager in providing on-site support to maintain steam systems, autoclaves, plumbing, boilers, air-handling systems, compressors, vacuums, pneumatics, water systems, and basic electronics / electrical systems. 

Job Responsibilities

Assisting the Facilities Manager with the following duties:

Performing in-house Preventative Maintenance requirements.

Performing any general maintenance as required.

To be available by arrangement for any emergencies in the building e.g. alarms etc.

Overall up-keep and appearance of the building i.e. ceiling tiles, loose plaster etc.

Keeping heating oil and propane gas at an acceptable level.

Maintaining a spare parts stock for all equipment.

Ensuring plant room is kept in a tidy and easily accessible manner for other members of staff where required and ensure that is always locked in the evenings.

Ensuring that all valves, switches and electrical contacts are correctly labeled.

Being vigilant on changes or damages to machinery / equipment throughout the building, notifying the line manager on each of these issues.

Ensuring the integrity of the security systems throughout the organisation and for making changes as required after consultation with line manager.

Ensuring all relevant maintenance documentation is kept up to date in accordance with all company procedures.

Ensuring pest control is in line with company procedures.

Ensuring an ongoing supply of steam.

Documenting common/routine/repetitive maintenance tasks.

Identifying recurring faults and addresses root causes and possible solutions.

Identifying opportunities for improvement of facilities and the implementation of action plans for continuous improvement.

Deputising for the Facilities Manager in his absence.

Qualifications

Education / Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience / Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience of providing fitter / electrical support in a production or laboratory environment.  They will have knowledge of many of the systems listed in the Job Summary.  They will have good carpentry skills and will be creative and resourceful.  They should have previous experience in maintaining equipment Preventative Maintenance schedules.

Applicants must be diligent, hard-working, and energetic.  They must be organised, accurate, and have a proven track record in high levels of productivity and attention to detail.  They will be passionate about completing tasks efficiently and have good communication skills both internally and externally.

A full, clean driving licence is desirable.

An engineering qualification is desirable.

Knowledge of steam systems is desirable.

Good communication skills both internally and externally.

Ability to understand requirements and to be able to devise and articulate the most appropriate solutions.

They will be able to prioritise work effectively in the absence of the Facilities Manager.

Demonstrable relevant facilities / building / engineering experience.
