What does this mean? In simple terms, we test the electrical and electronic products you use daily.

From TVs, Microwaves, doorbells, set-top boxes and audio equipment to full-size trains, car parts, and jukeboxes - basically anything electrical or electronic - so that manufacturers can check that they are safe to use and meet the regulations for this type of product.

We have an opportunity available within our product department for someone who enjoys building electronic and mechanical devices. Working with the technical and engineering staff, you will be involved in all aspects of assembling specialised, high-value electronic test equipment that many of our customers use to test their measurement systems.

What will you be doing?

  • Soldering Printed Circuit Boards and assembling finished products
  • Monitoring and maintaining component levels using our stock database system
  • Testing subassemblies and final products for correct functioning
  • Packaging completed products & kits, ready for shipping to customers worldwide
  • PAT testing and registering new equipment

Who are we looking for?

Someone enthusiastic with a strong teamwork ethic and good attention to detail, ideally with good IT, communication and organizational skills. Basic knowledge of electronics and hand soldering skills are important, and previous experience of surface mount PCB assembly and

Working hours?

20 hours per week, flexible arrangement available e.g. 5 days per week, 8 am to 12 am, or 10 am to 2:30 pm with a half-hour for lunch.

The Eurofins York Test Instruments workshop is located at Monk Cross, York

box-build would be beneficial, but on-the-job training will be available.
