39 Hours per week. 09.00 - 17.15 - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  09.00 - 17.30 - Wednesday. 

The purpose of this job is to support the operation and development of the Microbiology department.

Responsibilities:

• Microbiological testing and validation of client material.
• Media preparation, environmental monitoring, microbial cultures, growth promotion.
• Technical review.
• Client communications and meetings.
• Support the resolution of quality issues.
• Write and review of exceptions.
• Lead root cause analysis and quality risk assessments.
• CAPA.
• Change controls.
• Support equipment calibration, qualification, and maintenance.
• Writing and review of procedures, protocols, reports.
• Deputise for leadership, as needed.
• Support self-inspections.
• Support client audits and regulatory inspections.
• Propose and implement continuous improvements.
• Member of Microbiology Global Council.
• Delivery of microbiology training.

Degree in life sciences is preferred.

Experience:

•  At least seven years in a GMP-regulated environment, including five years in a Microbiology role.
• At least ten years in a GMP- or GLP-regulated environment, including seven years in a Microbiology role, without a degree in life sciences but with a third-level qualification.
