Job Description

To implement sustainable change within our Business Units that enables Eurofins Forensic Services to improve its service to Customers through effective and efficient continuous improvement.  To provide leadership and inspire change in those around you, while building a positive Lean culture with the teams. This vacancy will predominantly support the Examination & Reporting team in Wakefield.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Delivery of continuous improvement in the Business Unit working environment that meets Regulatory requirements, where necessary, and Eurofins Forensic Services operational requirements
  • To project manage Lean projects. Create and implement project plan, and monitor progress against plan, elevate roadblocks that cannot be removed locally or require a third party arbitrage
  • To actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance
  • To take ownership of change initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal governance and controls 
  • Implementation of process changes, performance management tools & continuous improvement methodologies
  • To work with other team members to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting
  • To Train and Coach local staff in Lean. The project manager will need to train and build the Lean skills of the local resources so that they are able to implement, sustain and continue using Lean principles. 
  • Demonstrate quantifiable improvements to processes through improved KPIs including turnaround time (TAT) compliance, reduced consumable spend or increased revenue
  • Promotion of Continuous Improvement within the Business Units & provision of regular updates to the Head of Continuous Improvement and other Key Stakeholders 
  • Involvement in Team-Building and Team Management: Can identify resources required to solve particular problem/run project. Can identify skills/will gap of team members and ensure they are properly motivated/coached to deliver impact.  Able to build trust among team members, gives and asks for feedback and recommendations
  • To ensure that the environmental impact of project solutions is considered – including waste reduction, recycling, water and energy usage, and other environmental impacts.
  • The above will need to be delivered whilst demonstrating all aspects of Eurofins core values – Customer focus, Quality, Competence & Team Spirit and Integrity



  • Previous training or experience in Continuous Improvement – Green Belt Lean Sigma accreditation or Lean Advanced Practitioner
  • Good understanding of organisational dynamics and of business processes, policies and tools and methodologies relevant to operational change
  • A ‘completer-finisher’ taking accountability for ideas from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success 
  • Ability to motivate and mobilise others
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent organisational skills – managing multiple deadlines, stakeholders & resources
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) – enabling communication at all levels including the ability to escalate matters clearly and concisely to senior management as required

Additional Information

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 per week. 

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance will be required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have at least five years’ continuous residency in the UK preceding an application. Criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance.  In addition, successful applicants will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment.
