Alongside the product testing and certification services, Eurofins York also delivers Global Market Access services, Training, Compliance Guidance and Expert Services to companies in the UK and further afield.

Eurofins E&E UK consists of Eurofins York Ltd, Eurofins E&E Hursley, Eurofins E&E CML Ltd, Eurofins E&E ETC Ltd and Eurofins Electrical & Electronic UK London Ltd.

 

Job Description

Applications are invited for the position of Business Controller.

The role is two-fold, both reporting to the Managing Director, Eurofins E&E UK within the Eurofins York office in York:

1.       Working closely with the UK entity Managing Directors and their existing finance teams as well as Financial Controllers in the Eurofins National Service Centre (NSC) to support the Eurofins E&E UK business.

2.       Providing the local accounting function for Eurofins York.

The role does not include the accounting function except for Eurofins York.

Key responsibilities include:

  • The local accounting function within Eurofins York including review of monthly management accounts and amending where necessary to ensure that the figures correctly reflect the business
  • Work with the Managing Directors and Leadership teams to develop a short / medium / long term strategic financial plan to underpin business performance.
  • Lead the financial due diligence processes surrounding potential acquisitions incorporating assessments relating to likely synergy benefits and risks.
  • Provide reporting of financial KPIs such as margin by services, clients and segments
  • Work with the local entity finance managers to continually improve finance related processes including raising of POs, managing working capital, improving cost control and tracking profit improvement projects
  • Provide the Leadership team with advice and support on the financial implications of business activities and support planning initiatives through financial data, management information, analysis, reports and recommendations
  • Ensure timely and accurate production of monthly and annual reporting alongside analyses of budgets
  • Provide business with financial trends and forecasts as needed alongside insights to help drive the businesses forward
  • Lead and oversee preparation of annual budget process and preparation of top-down targets and ensure the accuracy of business and cost-centre budgets
  • Monitor cash-flows, accounts and other financial transactions
  • Develop and oversee the risk management process
  • Lead and mentor the finance manager and credit control teams
  • Attend the monthly Senior Leadership team meeting adding value through updates and insight to support business improvement
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to drive the business forward
  • Compliance and internal control activities as needed with reporting on non-financial information to support business thinking
  • Project work as necessary

Qualifications

  • Qualified finance professional ACA, CIMA or ACCA or equivalent
  • Strong track record in a similar role financial / business controller role
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • The ability to work without restriction in the UK and a current passport are required
  • Being willing to travel within UK/abroad (occasionally)
  • Being responsible for their actions and taking proactive ownership of projects
  • Actively working in, and communicating with, a small team
