Job Description

This is a full time position working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 08:30 - 16:15 & Wednesday 08:30 - 16:30

To assist in the running of the Quality Management System (QMS) for all quality issues, assisting in the efficient operation of the QA office and the laboratory, to ensure that schedules are met, and that the quality of work meets specified standards.  Responsible jointly with all other members of staff to ensure that the premises is a safe environment.

Principal Responsibilities

Performing duties in accordance with the requirements of cGMP.  Maintenance of quality-related databases and supplier approval qualifications.  Maintain client and internal procedures, including review and release.  Responsible for the checking and release of data from the Quality Department and the approval of laboratory Reports and Certificates of Analysis.  Organisation of and taking part in internal quality audits.  Investigating quality related problems, complaints, and anomalies, as required.  Assist in client and regulatory audits as required.  Maintain an overall coordinating role for the quality systems.  Report to the QA Team Leader on a regular basis on progress and any circumstances which alter agreed timescales.  Review of equipment qualification, calibration, and maintenance documents. Any other task deemed necessary by management.  Drives on-time closure of quality metrics for the business.

Quality Assurance Duties

Perform the following as required:

  • Ensure document control procedures are followed, such as SOPs, worksheets, spreadsheets, client methods, TAs, and equipment files. 
  • To provide administration duties to system procedures and associated paperwork
  • Responsible for ensuring that all analyses and associated tasks are performed in accordance with Eurofins quality policies and procedures and satisfy the requirements of GMP.
  • Ensure controlled worksheets are available and used in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Responsible for checking and release of data from the Quality Department and Certificates of Analysis.
  • Investigation and action of quality related problems and anomalies as raised within the Quality Management System and as stipulated by company and regulatory procedures. 
  • Review methods, protocols, and reports as required.
  • Write, review and update of SOPs, controlled forms, and templates.
  • Responsible for verifying Metrology events.
  • Any other procedures as deemed necessary by the QA Team Leader to assist the business in meeting timelines.

Health & Safety

Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe manner in keeping with the Company’s written procedures.  Report all accidents or unsafe conditions in the workplace.  Use PPE provided at all times within the laboratory and report any malfunction to management.  Always know hazards associated with materials being worked on and correct disposal techniques.  On a frequent basis read SDS provided with materials to keep knowledge up to date.  Ensure any CAPA are completed in a timely manner.

Training and Development

Participate in training as required.  Conduct training with QA team members, site leadership, and testing personnel on all aspects of the QMS and investigations, as required.  Recognise areas where personal development is required and seek guidance for appropriate training.  Ensure training record is accurate and up to date at all times.

Communication

Communicate frequently with QA Team Leader on progress updates.  Participate fully in meetings when attendance is requested.  Participate fully on quality issues.  Participate in appraisal system as requested by management.  Participate in internal and external audits.

Human Resources

Qualifications

  • Degree in life science essential.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a GMP QC or QA environment.
