We are currently recruiting for a MEDICAL SCIENTIST IN HAEMATOLOGY. 

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the relevant duties involved in a busy medical haematology department. This is a permanent role on a full time basis.

The main duties and responsibilities will include:

1.  Performing:

Automated Haematology, Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay analysis together with blood parasitology; Manual differential analysis and sample preparation; Clinical Chemistry and Haematology analysis on Saturdays together with on call out of hours; Evaluation of results.

2.  Assisting in:

Quality assurance programme; Reagent and general stock control; Carrying out clerical and technical tasks in accordance with sample handling procedures; Maintaining policies and procedures, review and update as required.

The ideal Candidate should have:

·       Current registration with the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine or CORU

·       Relevant experience in a medical laboratory (haematology),

·       Experience of blood film morphology and blood parasitology essential
