Job Description

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for supporting the in-vitro pharmacology profiling services including all offerings  in the LeadHunter Business Unit of Eurofins Discovery. The objective of this role comprises portfolio management, building detailed pricing proposals for clients involved in long term studies, pricing estimates for drug discovery programs, AX implementation of pricing and automation of pricing in internal ERP systems like AX. The Associate Product Manager will also be responsible for designing part codes for various panels and individual assays and maintaining the entire LeadHunter service catalogue including product additions and discontinuations.

The Associate Product Manager will have knowledge and experience with in vitro biological assays used in drug discovery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the portfolio champion and leads the generation of detailed pricing proposals for incoming inquiries including projects that require long term engagement
  • Works closely with the Product Managers, BDs, Study Directors, BUMA to understand the needs of the client for extension of existing pricing agreements
  • Maintains close interaction with sales organizations through training and active participation in the sales process, including pricing tactics, detailed long term study plans, Statement of work, task orders and customer support
  • Manages automation of all the client built proposals into AX for automated implementation when client studies are initiated
  • Manages internal systems like fiche client and updating any internal systems for the client service team
  • Manages product lifecycle and participates in innovation projects of the in vitro profiling services portfolio
  • Becomes knowledgeable about the quoting process and internal ERP system like AX for facilitating clients custom projects
  • Managing and tracking of agreements to keep them all in current and active status
  • Supports marketing campaign strategies and programs to achieve stated objectives regarding revenue
  • Develops go-to market launch and communication strategy; executes related tactical plan and reports related 
  • ROI metrics of assigned portfolio for product areas assigned as responsibilities
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative market analysis, monitors industry trends and competitive landscape with the ability to translate customer insights into strategic and tactical plans
  • Works with clients, business development partners, and thought leaders as well as inside the organization cross-functionally with sales, operations, and management to successfully grow the business
  • Understands and defines competitive pricing strategies
  • Has utilized systems for product management, pricing, portfolio management (e.g Microsoft CRM system, AX)
  • Ability to utilize various databases and business intelligence tools for analytics of the portfolio
  • Experience in preparation and implementation of presentations for sales organizations, customer presentations, and client service teams

Qualifications

Education/Experience (BMQ):

  • Bachelors in Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or Pharmacology
  • Industry experience in Drug Discovery
  • 2+ years’ experience in project management or product management
  • Technical background in cell-based and biochemical assays

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):

  • Strong cross-functional skills to work with BDs, clients and client service teams
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office including excel, word and template building
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in the drug discovery market with understanding of the served and total markets available
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery industry
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to drive and achieve desired objectives
  • Is process and detail oriented
  • Is well versed in use of presentation tools, databases and analysis of large amounts of data, and effective interpretation and presentation of data
  • Ability to effectively communicate with  internal and external clients, including competence in understanding client needs and matching these with the company’s capabilities to support sales opportunities
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of time, domestic and international​​​​​​​
