Job Description

EAG Laboratories, a Eurofins Company, has a great opportunity for a Reliability Engineer at our Santa Clara, CA lab. This position is an opportunity to work with a variety of electromechanical test systems and customers to grow EAG’s business.  EAG provides stress-based reliability qualification and knowledge-based reliability qualification methodologies based on industry standards in support of our client’s need to achieve high quality and reliable products.

Our clients include leading edge tech companies in a diverse range of industries and business sectors who design, manufacture, or incorporate electronics for tomorrow’s technology driven world.  EAG’s engineers engage in engineer-to-engineer interaction to discuss and comprehensively understand client issues, challenges, goals, and urgency, to define the device problems, develop and execute analysis, and report back results.  This is a hands-on position that requires strong problem-solving skills to perform a wide range of analytical work. 

The Reliability Application Engineer has the critical role of running reliability jobs on state-of-the-art products and interfacing directly with clients to define scope of work, develop technical requirements and programs, debug and resolve issues, and communicate schedule and status.

Essential Job Functions:

As a Reliability Applications Engineer, you are responsible for running reliability stresses on materials and products to test their durability and execute such standardized work based on documented operating procedures.  Activities include creating and editing chamber profiles, performing chamber tests, manual testing, and meticulous handling and analysis of samples.  You are responsible for ensuring a high quality, on-schedule delivery of these results to our clients in the semiconductor industry so that they can qualify their devices.  You will work with the Reliability operations team, along with management and sales to put together plans, execute, and support them in resolving issues.  Expectations and visibility are high, so you must be able to take independent ownership of assigned projects and help ensure customers have a successful qualification of their product within their targeted timeline.

You must be able to manage multiple projects at the same time under tight deadlines, recognize and mitigate risks, and work proactively on contingency plans.  You must be organized and detailed-oriented with emphasis on clear, precise, documented communication/updates to customers and the internal team.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field or related experience
  • Project/program management experience is a plus
  • Knowledge in reliability stress testing, systems, techniques, and industry standards such as JEDEC and AEC-Q100
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of project scheduling software such as Smartsheet is a plus
  • Good vision, analytical, process-oriented, strong technical understanding, and excellent troubleshooting, debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Goal/focus driven and able to handle pressure situations
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple major and concurrent projects and able to modify plans as requirements dictate
  • Proven willingness to learn about new processes/systems and ability to operate independently with minimal oversight, comfortable prioritizing and escalating as needed to succeed
  • Proficient in the use of instruments; DMM, oscilloscope, microscopes, etc.
  • Prior customer facing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillset to interact/engage with customers and team
  • Quality control inspection experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of basic camera/photography functions and skills
  • Team player, fast learner, assertive and willing to perform other tasks as needed 
  • Excellent organizational, time management and computer skills, strong word processing, database management and spreadsheet skills
