Our Engineering Sciences lab located in Milpitas, CA facility is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to work with a variety of instruments and customers to grow EAG. EAG offers failure analysis services in support of our client’s need to achieve high quality and reliable products.

Responsibilities for this role include initial consultation with customers to define the device’s problem, developing and executing analyses, and communicating results. This is a hands-on position that will require strong problem-solving skills to perform a wide range of analytical work and leveraging other EAG colleague’s efforts. 

This role is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) therefore all accepted applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR: U.S. Person is a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., "Green Card Holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • BSEE/MSEE or electrical engineering Failure Analysis background 
  • 2+ years of Failure Analysis laboratory experience (semiconductor and electronics industry)
  • Experience and knowledge in the following are highly desired: Semiconductor, materials analysis, DPA (destructive physical analysis), electronics end-use, manufacturing, design, etc.

    • Fault Isolation techniques: Emmi, OBIRCH/XIVA, IR Thermography
    • Nanoprobing
    • SEM
    • Curve trace, bench test, microprobing
    • X-ray (2D and 3D/CT)
    • Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (C-SAM)
    • Deprocessing/delayering
    • Device Physics, Circuit Analysis, Layout GDS
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • A strong work ethic with a commitment to accuracy
  • The ability to work to deadlines in a team-oriented environment are essential
