Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician on a fixed term basis.

Reporting to Senior Medical Scientist in Molecular Biology, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
-Performing DNA/RNA extraction, in accordance with SOPs
-Performing RT-PCR in accordance with SOPs
-Assisting in the completion of the department’s daily tasks, including work files, to a high standard to ensure patient results delivered in a timely manner.
-Assist in the processing of samples incorporating automated and manual methods of analysis to include pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes.
-Performing routine laboratory tests to a high quality and as required in accordance with departmental SOP’s.
-Reagent preparation
- Performing other duties, as reasonably required, which may fall within the scope of this post.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
-Previous relevant laboratory experience with performing DNA/RNA extraction and
performing RT-PCR ideally in a medical diagnostic laboratory,
-A degree in Science,
-Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques.

Contract duration: This is a fixed term contract with 6 months probationary period.Â
