Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories PSS is searching for a Scientific Operations Support - PCR in San Diego, CA to provide Molecular Biology and DNA sequencing support.

Employee Responsibilities: 

• Execute high throughput molecular biology protocols required to support DNA sequencing efforts including Sanger and Next Generation Sequencing approaches
• Perform basic Molecular Biology techniques such as PCR, plasmid purification, agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and restriction digests
• Work collaboratively with project teams on-site to achieve critical research objectives and timelines
• Interact productively with the antibody discovery, protein engineering and purification groups in San Diego

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team setting are essential
• Familiarity with the NGS procedures on the MiSeq preferred
• Experience in the operation of high throughput liquid handlers (Biomek, Tecan, or Hamilton) is desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication, work planning, and record keeping skills, with strong attention to detail required
• Ability to follow procedures reliably and consistently and ability to  recognize and elevate relevant issues as appropriate
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or other related degree concentration
• 0-2 years of related experience
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of South San Diego, CA are encouraged to apply.
