Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Engineer to join our pharmaceutical facility in Dungarvan Co Waterford.  This role will assist the Facilities Manager and team in providing on-site support to Eurofins BPT Buildings 1 & 2 plus the associated grounds.

 

The main responsibilities of this role will involve:

-         Assisting the Facilities Manager with the following duties:

-         Be responsible for assigned facility projects, from the planning, budgeting, sourcing and completion of activities within agreed timeframes.  This may include the co-ordination of a cross functional team.

-         Management and upkeep of the site BMS system

-         SLA management and review

-         Management and upkeep of the site security systems (Building Access & General Security)

-         Delegating and planning works for the Facilities Vendors.

-         Performing in-house Preventative Maintenance requirements.

-         Performing any general maintenance as required.

-         To be available by arrangement for planned shutdowns and react to any emergencies in the building including occasional call-outs e.g. alarms etc.

-         Overall up-keep and appearance of the buildings internally and externally.

-         Keeping heating oil/propane gas and lab gasses at an acceptable level.

-         Maintaining a spare parts stock for all Facilities plant & equipment, with particular emphasis to critical equipment

-         Ensuring plant rooms is kept in an audit ready state and ensure that they are secure at all times.

-         Ensuring that all electrical and mechanical plant are correctly labeled.

-         Being vigilant on changes or damages to machinery / equipment throughout the buildings, notifying the line manager on each of these issues.

-         Ensuring the integrity of the security systems throughout the organisation and for making changes as required after consultation with line manager.

-         Ensuring all relevant maintenance documentation is kept up to date in accordance with all company procedures.

-         Ensuring pest control is in line with company procedures.

-         Ensuring an ongoing supply of steam to the site autoclaves.

-         Ensuring lab water systems are maintained and functioning

Qualifications

-         The ideal candidate will have experience of providing fitter / electrical support in a production or laboratory environment.  They will have knowledge of many of the systems listed in the Job Summary.  They will be creative and resourceful.  They should have previous experience in maintaining equipment Preventative Maintenance schedules.

-         Be diligent, hard-working, and energetic, be organised, accurate, and have a proven track record in high levels of productivity and attention to detail.  Be passionate about completing tasks efficiently and have good communication skills both internally and externally.

-         A full, clean driving licence is desirable.

-         An engineering qualification or equivalent is essential.

-         Knowledge of steam systems is desirable.

-         Good communication skills both internally and externally.

-         Ability to understand requirements and to be able to devise and articulate the most appropriate solutions.

-         Be able to prioritise work effectively in the absence of the Facilities Manager.

-         Demonstrable relevant facilities / building / project management/ engineering experience.
