Job Description

  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in scientific activities associated with multiple small-molecule drug and pharmacological tool discovery projects, including hit validation, hit-to-lead and lead optimization.
  • Provide expertise on selecting compounds for hit-to-lead and lead optimization and direct efforts to improve the properties of lead molecules.
  • Lead chemistry efforts on at least 1 Lead optimization project and 1-3 Lead ID projects simultaneously.
  • Direct the activities of external medicinal chemistry and ADME groups in pursuit of the project objectives

Qualifications

  • Several years’ experience as a project leader or team leader in medicinal chemistry involving successful multi-disciplinary collaborations
  • Proven track record driving projects from hit identification and validation through to leads and clinical candidates preferably in an industry environment
  • Broad experience in the GPCR target class
  • Extensive experience of working with remote chemistry and ADME teams to rapidly and efficiently advance projects
  • Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field, and 10 + years’ experience in drug discovery research; or an equivalent combination of education  (Master’s or Bachelor’s degree) and 15-20 years’ experience.
