Job Description

How can you contribute?

As Eurofins' is ramping up our Security Operations Center (SOC), we are looking for a talented Information Security (Data Analyst) Intern to join our driven, highly skilled and diverse Information Security Department for 6 to 12 months in Katowice. In the role, you will work closely with the Lead Security Data Scientist, IT Automation Team and business stakeholders to equip them with information, data visualizations and results of analysis which will help to make better, informed decisions.

You will primarily support the Cybersecurity and IT Security business areas, and assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of high-quality, reliable analytics. You will also participate in the design and execution of the data analysis process, from the initial idea to the final implementation and monitoring phases, and use modern tools to apply statistics and machine learning algorithms to obtain meaningful results.

Duration: 6 to 12 months

Location: Katowice, Poland

Type of contract: Full-Time (40 hrs/wk)

As an Information Security (Data Analyst) Intern, you will:

  • Work closely with the Lead Security Data Scientist to understand business processes within the Cybersecurity and IT Security areas, and determine how to use data for valuable business solutions, decisions;
  • Use statistical, algorithmic, data mining and visualization techniques to model complex problems, identify opportunities, discover solutions and deliver information supporting business decisions;
  • Search for ways to get new data sources and assess their accuracy;
  • Create custom data models and algorithms;
  • Handle Jenkins Data Pipelines/CI/CD;
  • Program in PowerShell;
  • Coordinate with various technical/functional teams to implement models and monitor results;
  • Develop processes, techniques and tools to analyze and monitor model performance;
  • Collaborate closely with team members in the Information Security department on improving the reporting of the security efforts;
  • Work with reporting specialists in order to present upper management with coherent, meaningful and readable reports on the Eurofins security KPIs and efforts.

Qualifications

Are  you our kind of extraordinary?

  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate in a Bachelor or Master Degree program in IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or similar;
  • Basic knowledge of Python is required;
  • Programming skills are highly desirable;
  • Basics of machine learning techniques is desirable;
  • Experience with one or more of the following technologies is a strong asset:
    • database: MS SQL;
    • data visualization: Power BI.
  • User Interface (UI) Development / Designing skills is an advantage;
  • Knowledge or experience with GIT – Version Control is an asset;
  • Knowledge or experience with Jenkins CI/CD is an asset;
  • Any subject matter knowledge in DevOps Engineering is a plus;
  • Fluent English communication skills (written/oral). Knowledge of another language is a plus.
