Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for a sample management specialist to work in our Professional Scientific Services QC group support the commercial release of life changing medicines in Poway, San Diego, California.

Job Description

Sample Management – (Production & lab support)

 

·         Print schedule of samples that are expected daily, and ensure that all expected samples have been taken and reach their correct destination.

·         Attend morning meetings with operations.

·         Collect all in-process samples from production buildings and transport to laboratories.

·          Sort samples in laboratories and deliver all relevant samples to their correct destination (fridge/freezer).

·         Retrieve relevant retain samples on request from the lab

·         Manage retains sample process, including put-away, disposal, shipping and write down as appropriate.

·         Perform all tasks within the timelines outlined in the operating procedures while ensuring that there are no freezer excursions.

·         Act as a key point of contact for all requests/queries relating to samples from both operations and the lab

·         Provide input into relevant operating procedures and training materials

·         Documentation review (logbooks, tickets etc.)

·         Maintenance of housekeeping standards

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

·         High School diploma or equivalent is required, but Associates or Bachelor’s degree in relevant science or engineering discipline, is preferred or equivalent work experience

·         2+ years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or sterile production environments is desirable,  but an equivalent combination of experience and education is acceptable

·         Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities

·         Ability to be flexible with schedule, and work overtime as needed

 

Position is full-time, working 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, 8am -5pm with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Poway, California are encouraged to apply.
