Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION OBJECTIVES:

To support the maintenance of the Molecular lab for routine testing, not limited to COVID-19 testing. Assume responsibility in ensuring accurate, precise, and timely performance of molecular testing while assuring compliance and meeting of all regulatory requirements and quality standards.


POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Support in the planning, implementation and running of the Molecular Lab.
  • Develop the SOPs and workflow protocols to perform molecular testing.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance on biosafety and quality of the Molecular Lab.
  • Support the procurement of Lab equipment & consumables with timely delivery.
  • Support the recruitment, selection and staff training for molecular testing.
  • Ensure optimal performance; efficiencies and quality of a high throughput Molecular Lab.
  • Ensure that laboratory policies and procedures are being followed by laboratory employees.
  • Oversee the monitoring of Molecular Lab inventory levels; anticipating needs; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt for Molecular Lab supplies and reagents.
  • Responsible in successful audit with accreditation bodies including but not limited to MOH, CAP, HSA in the area of molecular and COVID-19.
  • Manage periodic internal, external, regulatory and accreditation audits (MOH, CAP, HSA, etc.)
  • Provide technical advisory on clinical laboratory methods, sciences and applications.
  • Support Eurofins’ business philosophy, leadership, values, and ethics.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    PREFERRED PROFILE:

    • Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in molecular diagnostics work
    • Ability to organize, communicate, teach, and work with others in an effective manner
    • Knowledge of state and local standards, regulations, guidelines and requirements effecting operations of a clinical reference laboratory
    • Analytical thinking and good communication skills

    Basic Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master of Science, Medical Technology or related Sciences
    • Minimum 10 years working experience in a molecular laboratory and 5 years supervisory experience.
