Job Description

  • Manage large sets of data in support of new product engineering and development.  Upload data and manually enter data.  Utilize Excel to perform basic statistics (linear regressions, standard deviations, min, max, mean, basic graphs/charts, etc.)
  • Develop and manage controlled documents through a controlled document repository – to include forms, templates, work instructions, and SOPs.   Author controlled documents. 
  • Move and organize large data sets and files; set up data files and storage, and organize large volumes of electronic files. 
  • Carry out data analysis and reporting
  • Proactively work with engineers, project managers, and laboratories in obtaining data.  Identify and request missing data sets, and gain a firm understanding of data origin.
  • Ensure strong project engagement and communication; assist with project management and timelines.  Participate-on, and contribute-to the collective success of the engineering and product development team.
  • Cover-for and assist team mates in the laboratory, at the bench, or in pilot-level production projects by operating simple equipment.  Accurately document data in notebooks in compliance with good documentation practices. 
  • Adhere to highest quality standards; ensure compliance with quality system requirements
  • Communicate effectively with client staff members and co-workers

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • BS in a science-related field is preferred
  • Strong experience in data management and quality documents
  • 3-5 years of relevant data management and/or quality documentation experience
  • 4-year degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
  • Very strong Excel, SharePoint, computer, statistics, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to generate error-free work independently
  • Ability to understand source data and carry out data analysis and interpretation
  • Strong desire to contribute to the collective success of the engineering team; motivation to take ownership of projects; learn and understand the product development evolution.  
  • Ability to understand overarching project goals and objectives. 
  • Excellent communication (oral and written and presentation) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Flexibility and adaptability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, carry out other tasks as assigned, and comply with company policies
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Mon-Fri 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Richmond, VA are encouraged to apply.
