Job Description
The Sr. Laboratory Support Technician will perform supporting activities within the Technical Services/Manufacturing Sciences lab team’s upstream, downstream and analytical groups, supporting large scale commercial manufacturing.
Management/organization of laboratory and chemical stock/inventory including restocking and ordering
Preparation of buffers and cell culture media using aseptic technique, including organizing and scheduling of requests
Equipment maintenance, calibration, sterilization and management of equipment database
Bench-scale bioreactor assembly/disassembly and tubing assembly
Bioreactor sampling and routine testing using aseptic technique
Small-scale purification of samples using Akta chromatography system
Operation of autoclave and glassware washer
Maintenance of log books
Creation and processing of internal sample requests
Review and cross check of data for accuracy
Qualifications
Associates’ degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, engineering or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
At least three months related laboratory experience
Prior experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
