Job Description

  • Handle escalated calls from first/second line IT Service Desk
  • Administer and maintain corporate infrastructure
  • LAN/WAN, Firewalls, Switches, Routers, Wireless AP, Computers, Printers etc.  
  • Administer the VMware vSphere 6.7/7.0 multisite complex Infrastructure
  • Manage, support and administrate ESXi 6.7/7.0 physical hosts and local storage
  • Manage, support and administrate Dell EMC / Unity and Lenovo Storage
  • Administrate and support Remote Desktop Services 2016 that runs business core app.
  • Manage Exchange 2016 DAG.
  • Perform daily backup operations on Commvault (where applicable):
  • Ensure integrity of backup media and media is hosted off-site;
  • Perform regular test restores and DR testing.
  • Build, configuration and implementation of local servers and ensure error-free and efficient implementation and functioning of the servers;
  • Patch servers with Microsoft WSUS Critical Updates;
  • Ensure all systems are updated with the latest Ani-Virus definitions and encryption
  • Administer, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, Classifier
  • Administrate, support and maintain multisite Exchange 2016 DAG environment (virtual), Windows 2012/2016/2019 physical clusters with local and shared storage.  
  • Perform daily backup operations on Commvault (where applicable):
  • Ensure integrity of backup media and media is hosted off-site;
  • Perform regular test restores and DR testing.

  • To diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents, including operating systems (Windows 7 and 10, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) and across a range of software applications.
  • Install, upgrade, configure and support enterprise applications such as MS Office and Boldon James Classifier and those hosted on windows server 2008/2012/2016 and RDS.
  • Responsible for monitoring, operating, managing, troubleshooting and restoring to service personal computers (PC) or notebooks that has authorized access to the network
  • Ticket handling using in-house helpdesk system and assist all our users via phone, desk-side and remote support with any logged IT related incidents or service requests
  • To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary.
  • To maintain a first class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ensure all necessary technical support is provided to all internal users and maintain users' satisfaction in the specific fields of responsibilities.
  • Contribute to corporate/company-wide projects as required
  • Ensure all reasonable steps are taken to achieve accuracy and reliability of information, in particular reliability of local network and servers;
  • To generate specific reports with conclusions to a high level of quality and technical competence
  • Input to the IT Operations & Service Desk Manager on a regular basis on technical guidance, reporting, planning, and budget;
  • Setting and compiling targets and providing statistical or other reports.
  • To operate in line with company policies
  • Ensure each network under direct responsibility applies the Group IT Policies.
  • To partake in any developmental training as required in compliance with the company standard;

  • Develop trends by monitoring and analysing incoming calls, problems and support requests

Qualifications

Desirable:

  • Degree in computer Science
  • ITIL certified
  • Microsoft Certification
  • VMware Certification

Hours: 37.5 per week  

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance will be required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have at least three years’ continuous residency in the UK preceding an application. Criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance.  In addition, successful applicants will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment.
