Eurofins NTD Genetics is searching for an Area Sales Director

Eurofins NTD Genetics is focused on developing and introducing innovative tests to physician offices, hospital laboratories, and reference laboratories that will enable them to help patients make better decisions regarding their health.   The Area Sales Director (ASD) is responsible for hiring and leading a team of field based Genetic Account Executives in a geographic area with the primary call point of OB/GYN, physicians, hospitals and laboratories and reports to the AVP of Business Development and Marketing.  The ASD is responsible for the overall revenue and profitability targets of the assigned geographical area and will be a member of the sales and marketing leadership team.

The Area Sales Director is responsible for developing and executing the strategic plan for the area.  Their focus will be coaching and training their sales team in the creation and execution of individual territory plans to meet organizational key imperatives and effectively manage a balanced portfolio of test offerings to customers across three distinct segments: Physician office and physician office laboratory (POL), hospital laboratory and OBGYN/Maternal Fetal Medicine Practices. Key Decision Makers include OB/GYN’s, MFM’s, Genetic Counselors, Lab Managers and Directors. 

Additionally, this role will work directly with the Director of Strategic Accounts for the same geographic region and the inside sales team to effectively lead and execute the overall strategy for the assigned area.

Job Description

Genetic Account Executive Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leads sales team to attain or exceed the overall sales plan and provide customer support for the NTD Genetics assigned product portfolio. (Territory goals - sales quotas, market share, product evaluations etc.)
  • Hires the best.  Actively and expeditiously hires sales talent to fill open roles and builds a cohesive team to drive results.
  • Develops coaching and communication plans with their team to ensure their very best performance, maximize potential, and develop talent.  Delivers feedback with the goal of helping the team to improve.
  • Contributes to a positive work culture with a positive attitude and a willingness to be open to the team’s ideas and strategies.
  • Drives corporate sales and marketing initiatives
  • Effectively manages critical administrative and HR situations.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Life Sciences, Biological areas, Business, or closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in diagnostic-related sales (some experience in esoteric laboratory testing is preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years  (5+ preferred) of sales management experience leading diversified regional teams with successful results
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to build solid regional or national business plans based on analysis of key performance metrics and an understanding of market place issues/opportunities, and the ability to identify areas of opportunity for company products and services
  • Strong desire and ability to develop relationships with, collaborate with, and influence coalition partners
  • Able to make decisions and provide leadership in equivocal situations
  • Proven track record of using multiple data points / sources simultaneously to create a holistic understanding of the business, and to develop appropriate strategies and actions
  • Customer-focused consultative selling skills
  • Knowledge of managed care and other health care-related current events such as FDA LDT and NGS regulatory changes
  • Demonstrated ability to learn product and disease-state information
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-energy organization
  • High level of integrity and adherence to all CLIA/ CAP and HIPAA compliance guidelines
  • Ability to create a motivating and goal-focused environment that enables account executives to achieve sales targets in the optimal manner
  • Manage budget and resources within the scope of the company business model and expense policy guidelines

Travel:

  • Willingness to travel up to 60% domestically.  International travel may be required.
