Job Description

EAG Laboratories has a great opportunity for a highly motivated chemist who enjoys solving problems using analytical chemistry. In this role, the individual will be responsible for:

  • Design experiments with a limited amount of assistance from management and/or experienced scientists 
  • Applies standard and non-standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out a sequence of related tasks to determine the composition, properties and/or structure of materials. 
  • Performs sample preparation.
  • Determine problem-solving solutions for outside the box problems
  • Perform hands-on laboratory work with the use of analytical instrumentation
  • Interpret analytical data from a variety of techniques (including FT-IR, NMR, GC-MS and/or LC-MS) 
  • Write reports that are tailored to our client (layman to highly technical) which includes methodology, conclusions and supporting analytical data
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment under firm deadlines
  • Maintain analytical instrumentation and troubleshoot problems when necessary
  • Work effectively in a team environment but also able to work independently
  • Communicate in a constructive manner with other scientists and managers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Qualifications

  • PhD or MS degree in Chemistry
  • Must have 2+ years of industrial experience 
  • Hands-on laboratory experience is required

  • Requirements include fine and gross motor skills, sitting, lifting, bending, speaking and writing
