Job Description

The Product Safety Engineer will evaluate products for compliance with international electrical safety standards. This individual will provide technical expertise to clients and to less experienced engineers to facilitate product compliance while adhering to company procedures and practices. This individual will also lead the development of test protocols required to expand laboratory testing capability.

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a customer technical contact.
  • Interpret standards and apply the requirements to products under investigation.
  • Create and implement test procedures.
  • Conduct tests in accordance with standards and procedures, record results.
  • Ensure that test equipment is calibrated or tested and operates properly.
  • Interface with and update the lab manager.
  • Review files and reports prepared by other project engineers.
  • Monitors multiple projects underway.
  • Prepare certification reports and related documents.
  • Develop and update test procedures and other quality documentation as needed.
  • Identify equipment needed to enhance or expand testing capability.
  • Assists department with quoting.
  • Assist Sales with closing new work.

Qualifications

  • Four year college degree-Engineering discipline; preferably electrical engineering.
  • Minimum three years experience in product safety engineering and various electrical safety standards; direct experience with IEC 60601, 62368 and 61010 preferred
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
