Job Description

  • Perform electron microscopy for viral particle identification, endogenous retroviral particle enumeration, and cell culture morphology and contamination identification
  • Prepare standards and samples for analysis
  • Run the instrumentation independently including, but not limited to, transmission electron microscope, centrifuge, image analysis software, and microtome.
  • Lead team, schedule, and train employees
  • Ensure adherence to highest quality and efficiency standards in laboratory operations
  • Foster morale and teamwork
  • Facilitate conference calls with clients; act as a technical lead
  • Perform monthly maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Execute specialized analyses
  • Lead project/test areas
  • Write reports (method transfers, method validations, laboratory investigations, and SOPs)
  • Initiate and perform laboratory investigations
  • Evaluate and trend sample data
  • Serve as system administrator
  • Execute method feasibility, establishment and validation testing
  • Support system validation efforts
  • Train new analysts
  • Ensure that the client receives quality data by reviewing laboratory data for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to GMP and/or GLP regulations

Basic Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Biochemistry, Virology, Cell Biology, or Physiology or related degree field
  • At least 3 years of related work experience in electron microscopy
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction
