Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for an Analytical Chemistry Senior Scientist to work in Easton, MD.

Senior Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop analytical methods to quantitate analyte(s) of interests in complex sample matrices.  Sample matrices may include complicated aqueous solutions or solid matrices (e.g. sediment or animal diet) containing matrix interferences, naturally occurring background, high salt content, high fat content, etc.
• Design and perform sample processing procedures that may involve extraction, SPE, LLE, clean-up, concentration, solvent exchange, dilution, etc.
• Perform GPL analytical method validations according to EPA, EC, EU, OECD or FDA guidelines.
• Operate, maintain and trouble-shoot analytical instruments (e.g. HPLC, GC, LCMS, GPC, ICP).
• Serve as Study Director for analytical method development and validation used in regulatory toxicity tests.
• Review study information, analytical data, scientific documentation and study reports.
• Serve as an expert in analytical chemistry to support staff and external customers.
• Communicate with staff or external customers on technical issues, project timelines and study related issues supporting eco-toxicity testing.
• Responsible for the quality and accuracy of the data and reports sent to clients under assigned responsibility.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently and work with laboratory management and other staff to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Conduct training of staff on analytical techniques necessary to perform laboratory assignments.

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Demonstrated skills in analytical method development for quantitation of small or large molecules in complex matrices.
• Extensive experience in sample preparation techniques such as LLE, SPE, isolation, separation or purification.
• 3+ years of experience in working with LCMS (Triple quadruple or QTRAP).
• 3+ years of experience in working with HPLC and GC instruments.
• Ability to independently perform data analysis using relevant instrument software.
• Experience in trouble-shooting of analytical methods and investigation of anomalous analytical results.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills with people who have different science background.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills.
• Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedules including weekends and holidays as necessary when assigned.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or other related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas and a minimum of eight years of experience in a GLP laboratory. 
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field and five years of relevant industrial experience or PhD in a relevant field and three years of relevant industrial experience working in a GLP laboratory.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply..
