Job Description

  • SOP driven sample (compounds) testing based on customer request, and data analysis.
  • Optimization of assays to obtain robust performance in screening applications.
  • Troubleshooting and validation of cell based assays for profiling and screening projects.
  • Generation of reference data for qualification of assays.
  • Instrument protocol optimization and validation.
  • Cross train with R&D for onboarding new assays.
  • Accountable for Compound management team operations and Inventory maintenance.
  • Train and supervise compound management team until they can be deemed completely independent.
  • Daily laboratory notebook entry.
  • Daily database documentation entry.
  • Weekly progress report generation.
  • Participation in and presentation at group laboratory meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Owns the accountability and responsibility of delivering to client needs and timeliness
  • Provides cross-functional support to other departments as required
  • Adjusts work hours as needed to meet client deadlines
  • Adheres to site employee health and safety (EHS) requirements

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Experience with lab automation strongly desired (liquid handlers / plate readers, robotics).
  • Experience with database-based analysis software preferred (Activity Base / Spotfire).
  • Attention to detail and consistent in experimental approach.
  • Ability to deliver data in a timely manner.
  • Team-oriented outlook and accustomed to working with other scientists.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a commercially focused lab environment.
  • Ability to multi-taski
  • A keen attention to detail
  • Willingness to help co-workers at all times

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in cell biology or biochemistry plus 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience or Masters with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with cell-based assays required.
  • Expertise in cell based signaling assays preferred (i.e GPCR cAMP and Ca2+ Second messenger assays).
