POSITION TITLE :                Cloud DevOps senior Engineer

REPORTING TO:                  Head of IT Operations Europe

REPORTING LOCATION:     Konstanz Germany

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:

You will be a key part of making our IT ready for cloud and for delivering the Cloud Strategy as outlined.

Accept new challenges, and take over responsibility & commitment for your deliveries. Work closely with a couple of teams to bring the company to the cloud.

POSITION & OBJECTIVES:              

Tasks:

• Work in a team of engineers distributed over multiple locations
• Work on and enhance Kubernetes platforms for Azure, AWS, others  and on-premise
• Monitor platforms from an availability, security and performance aspect
• Support the different product teams

 Specific Assignments:

The main responsibilities of Cloud Devops engineer:

• Setup and maintain cloud applications:
  • Design and implement systems and environments in the cloud
  • Maintain existing systems in the cloud
  • Monitor the health of all systems in the cloud
  • Check that all systems are complaint to company standards
  • Administrate the cloud permissions and subscriptions

 Other Assignments:

• Work closely with the RDM and other teams to bring the cloud initiative to success
• Developing automatic deployment to the cloud, for infrastructure as code and systems setups

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5-7 Years of Experienced

Profile description: You will join a high-performance team dealing with cutting-edge technologies in an international environment. As “Cloud DevOps Engineer” you will be building and operating a Kubernetes platform for Genomics Services.

As such your tasks will involve developing solutions and scripts for running and operating a Kubernetes plaform like OpenShift on top of the three public cloud providers Azure, AWS and GCP and on-prem. You will be finding solutions to problems and helping other teams to onboard on the Kubernetes platforms.

Requirements:

• University degree in Information Technology or comparable
• Relevant professional experience, preferably two years or more
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Docker and at least one cloud platform like Azure, AWS and/or GCP
• Knowledge in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible, Terraform, Packer
• Knowledge in agile working practices (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
• Knowledge in scripting languages (Python, ShellScript, etc.)
• Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must
• High affinity towards modern technology and cloud
• Strong analytical skills and a structured work approach
• High organizational talent, communication capabilities and team orientation
• Independent work method, high commitment to delivery, and high self-responsibility & ownership
