Eurofins Food and Water Testing New Zealand provides range of class leading food, water, plant, soil and  fertilizer testing, as well as horticultural services, auditing and technical solutions, primarily to the New Zealand market. With a staff of over 350 we operate laboratories in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Tauranga. We specialise in all Food types, Plants, Soils, Fertilizers, Potable Water, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Surface Water, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater. 

We are looking for a Laboratory Manager to lead our new Food & Water laboratory in Taupo.

Job Description

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:

To provide leadership to the laboratory team to ensure that the laboratory contributes to the financial and technical success of the national laboratory network by ensuring:

  • The laboratory is strongly customer focused
  • The laboratory delivers its technical services in the manner most cost effective for the laboratory network.
  • The laboratory adheres to high standards of technical and service quality as specified in the quality manual.
Overview of key accountabilities and key performance indicators:
  • Effective utilisation of staff
  • Customer and Growth Focus
  • Improve Financial Performance of the Laboratory
  • Leadership
  • Process improvement & alignment of laboratory practices nationally

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:

  • Tertiary qualifications in science or science related field.

Desirable:

  • Appropriate business qualification.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
Mandatory:
  • Expertise and experience in an appropriate technical discipline
  • Proven record of a successful leadership and process improvement
  • Proven record of customer/service focus.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
