Job Description

The Senior Employee Relations Specialist will ensure legal compliance with all employment and labor law regulations.  Assist Business Unit leaders with employee issues, disciplinary actions, review and approve terminations, reductions in force, investigate and defend legal complaints filed by employees.  Ensure HR compliance with all areas of regulatory compliance, both federal and state.

Senior Employee Relations Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Assist BU leaders with employee issues, disciplinary actions, review and approve terminations, reductions in force, investigate and defend legal complaints filed by employees
  • Research federal and state-specific regulations, educate HR team, and create programs to ensure compliance in all areas.  Follow all new regulations as they are passed, research, summarize and create programs to ensure compliance
  • Oversee affirmative action obligations for all assigned U.S. business units who meet requirements under these regulations.
  • Perform compliance FLSA audits on assigned Eurofins U.S. BU’s upon acquisition or as new positions come open, prepare summary of regulations and provide training to leaders, ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Support integration of programs across all business units, research state laws and ensure systems are in place to comply with all regulations. Travel to US business units as needed to support integration initiatives.
  • Design and deliver leadership training to current Eurofins U.S. leaders and following acquisitions. 
  • Perform compensation reviews and analysis.
  • Make recommendations on new or improved systems or programs
  • Perform any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the Human Resources Department
  • Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with all Employment Labor Laws
  • Ensure legal compliance with  all labor laws

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess :

  • PHR or SPHR a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in designated areas
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work overtime, ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information

Basic Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and minimum of five years related experience in Human Resources with a strong focus on  regulatory compliance or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed
