Job Description

Management
•    Manage the architecture team called the Design Authority (16 architects to manage)
•    Ensure correct integration of project deliverables within the program and with other solutions
•    Ensure that the appropriate artefacts are produced to enable implementation, delivery and maintenance
•    Mentor and support the professional development of the architecture team
Governance
•    Lead and continuously improve the architectural governance of the program
•    Manage the central architecture repository
•    Include and maintain design decisions, assumptions, requirements, architectures, etc. 
•    Ensure that the business requirements are consistently implemented across all applications
•    Ensure that the solutions within the program are aligned with the architecture standard and policies defined by the Design Authority and the transversal architecture team
•    Ensure adherence with the business and IT strategies of the organization; within the program
•    Ensure ongoing architecture and solution integrity over time
•    Manage and approve architectural changes brought about by requirement changes, issues and risks, budget and/or technical constraints
•    Ensure IT investments are leveraged to their maximum by encouraging reuse of replicable solutions
•    Provide guidance on optimizing the solution to deliver cost or productivity benefits
•    Ensure the Applications are compliant with the best practices and patterns of a modular Architecture, including multi-layers and SOA
•    Ensure that best practices are applied for the integration between applications

Delivery
•    Deliver high quality architecture options individually and through collaboration with the team (including design, documentation, prototypes, validation)
•    Present the management with clear options, complete with all information and advice required to make appropriate decisions
•    Design the solution architectures based on functional and non-functional requirements
•    Work collaboratively with Project Managers and Business Analysts to create high-level designs that will guide the development teams
•    Coordinate with the architects of other programs in order to ensure that the roadmaps are aligned
•    Document the solution architectures and ensure the designs are understood and implemented;
•    Perform architecture assessments of the Applications, highlight the gaps, evaluate the impacts and propose transition plans
•    Defining solutions taking into account the Enterprise Architecture strategies. Collaborate with the Enterprise Architects in order to apply the corporate guidelines and to ensure that the program is aligned with the future architecture state
•    Coordinate the analysis of the business requirements and their impacts on the applications
•    Take the lead to gathering of global requirements for transversal topics
•    Coordinate the analysis of the transversal business requirements and their impacts on the applications

Qualifications

•    20+ years of experience in IT projects
•    Proven experience in management of an architecture team and running of architectural governance
•    Proven design/development experience with large/complex applications using a variety of technologies
•    Advanced experience in solution architecture design - ideally 10 years of experience as Software or Solution Architect with orientation towards Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for a major IT program involving multiple applications and development teams
•    Strong knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture style and principles. Must have at least 5 years of experience with Service Oriented Architecture analysis and design
•    Strong experience in domain-driven analysis and design
•    Deep working knowledge of UML
•    Strong knowledge of REST architecture style and principles
•    Strong knowledge of asynchronous integration patterns
•    Advanced knowledge in the application of different architecture/design techniques (i.e. OO, Top-down, structured analysis, component-based design)
•    Experience with .NET technology stack is required
•    Experience with Agile software development is required
•    Working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (i.e. TOGAF, Zachman etc.)
•    Proven experience in security management, experience of oAuth/OpenID Connect is a plus
•    Experience with architecting solutions for the Cloud is a plus
•    Working with distributed teams or offshore teams is a plus
