SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:

Eurofins BioPharma International Business Line is a global, premium-class contract research organization (CRO) covering the whole chain of drug development including the preclinical and clinical phases with focus on Early Development, Central Laboratory Services and BioPharmaceutical Product Testing.

Within this International Business line, BioPharma Product Testing (BPT) spans the complete product development cycle by performing analyses at every stage: API & impurities analysis, stability studies, method development and validation, packaging testing (suitability, protection, sterility), cleaning validation, environmental documentation, sterility testing and hygiene monitoring, for small and large molecules. The global network of our local subsidiaries in Denmark, France, Germany, UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and the USA guarantees an industry leading range of methods, high capacity, the highest standards in our harmonized QA system and outstanding performance with low turn-around times.

You will be in charge of Eurofins BPT Hamburg; focusing on quality control services, i.e. raw materials testing, microbiology and stability storage for pharmaceutical drug development and manufacturing. You will lead and expand the business in the DACH region, and capture intercompany opportunities outside DACH, along the agreed upon strategy and you will strive to exceed business expansion and profitability goals.

POSITION & OBJECTIVES:

• Develop the Business Unit activities through organic growth with the objective of a minimum 15% organic growth per year, while meeting annualy agreed EBITA growth objectives (Budget).
• A notable focus early on will be to quickly bring the  legal entity to the required profitability level and to follow-through and execute on the relocation on the Hamburg Campus which will take place in June 2019.
• Improve operational efficiency at laboratories. Streamline the operational processes and make good use of IT so as to achieve high efficiency. Support the development, implementation and optimal use of the new Laboratory Information Management System, eLims-BPT, and ensure its efficient usage at all levels of the laboratory to improve productivity, profitability and quality.
• Hire, motivate, develop and retain excellent Leaders and employees meeting Eurofins preferred personality profile as described in Annex 1 according to the Leadership Charter. Here the focus will be in developing and strengthening the next level of leaders.
• Support the sales process and ensure that the relations with the clients are good and efficient. Attend meetings / audits with key clients at all levels and develop an in depth knowledge of customer requirements through regular meetings.
• Develop the local strategy to grow the business and offer new services upon strategic opportunities.
• Improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business units by ensuring the appropriate development and application of new techniques and business processes.
• Make sure that cross-selling synergies with other Eurofins laboratories in Europe are being developed and that the integration in the D/A/CH region is carried out.
• Define and agree goals and milestones with your team(s) and ensure goals are defined and communicated to their respective teams. Set up Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress. Follow up as appropriate and become hands on if required to ensure achievement of goals.
• Prepare and propose annual budget and 3 years mid-term plan. Report on any deviations to agreed upon results and work closely with financial controlling.
• Maintain Customer satisfaction, including of internal customers.
• Guarantee and control that all relevant legal and health & safety requirements are being abided to, in the Business Unit(s) under his/her direct or indirect responsibility, that the accreditations are being maintained and regularly expanded and that all employees act according to Eurofins values.

• Master of science or PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, engineering or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in the Testing or Life Science business.
• Fluent in German and English.
