Job Description

The HR Director, Japan provides the leadership necessary to deliver a spectrum of strategic and tactical HR support and programs to employees and managers that are fully aligned with the company’s strategic, financial and talent goals. This spectrum of support includes organizational development, performance management, succession planning, employee development/engagement, recruitment/retention and ensuring policy/procedure and legal compliance.

 

Position Objectives

  • This position will be responsible for providing Human Resources leadership for the entire Japan organization of euforins food, product, agro-science, and environment testing

     

  • The incumbent will operate as a trusted advisor & business partner to the members of the senior Management team and will collaborate with business leaders and guide development of HR strategies that attract, develop and retain best talent in the country

     

  • This position will be responsible for leading HR strategy development, Organization design, improvement and increase of employees’ satisfaction and engagement, diversity & inclusion and talent management strategies that will build a high performance culture to enable achieving the vision set by the organization

     

  • Will work closely with HR functional experts and counterparts worldwide and other business partners to deliver solutions and change management plans that drive sustainable business results

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive people strategy and agenda that supports the business needs/priorities (e.g., assessment, coaching, strategizing, driving change, retention, staffing, and development)

     

  • Provide ideas and guidance to managers on change management, organization assessment and ideas on how to leverage HR tools and programs to create an effective organization (e.g., Succession Planning, Performance Management, feedback, leadership development)

     

  • Lead the implementation of the performance management process including goal-setting, performance reviews and employee development planning.  Provide training and coaching to managers and associates on the process, roles, forms, rating calibration and timelines

     

  • Design/develop and implement long/short term recruiting strategies, which identify and source high quality talent in a timely and cost effective manner

     

  • Partner with Japan business leaders and Asia HR manager on all aspects of employee-related issues including performance concerns, policies and procedures interpretation, misconduct investigations, terminations, employee communications etc. Facilitate conflict resolution around sensitive issues in the entire group org.

     

  • Lead the improvement and increase of employees’ royalty and engagement. Focus much on the communication with all employees across groups of Japan and challenge to the improvement of their satisfaction and engagement to their works and organization.

     

  • Assess high risk situations and drive resolutions that appropriately balance the needs of the Company, employees and management

  • Provide guidance to leaders and managers on employment laws, compensation, training, benefits, and Company policies

     

  • Recommend innovations to HR policies, HR tools and HR processes to increase HR effectiveness

     

  • Provide management with analytical information and insights to facilitate holistic business decisions (e.g., turnover reports, exit interview data, compensation studies) using employee insights to guide business leaders’ actions that result in high levels of employee engagement and commitment

     

  • Ensure facility cost is optimized and well furnished.  Cost control, office management as well as EHS are to be secured.

     

  • Migrate the solid culture into the organization of complying with 3 absolutes; Safety, Ethics, and Internal control as the basis of realizing the sustainable performance.

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related subjects
  • Master Degree in preferrable.

 

Language Skills:

·         Japanese (fluent written and spoken);

·         English (fluent written and spoken);

·         Any additional language is an asset.
