Job Description
Synopsis:
The Data Analytics Officer supports data analytics, business intelligence, digitalization, and process automation within the Technical department. The role develops reliable dashboards and automated reports, improves data quality, and translates operational data into clear insights for decision-making. The officer will identify opportunities to digitize workflows, reduce manual effort, and support analytics initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical capability, technical proficiency, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage multiple digital and data initiatives effectively.
Accountabilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance business intelligence reports and automated dashboards using Maintenance Information System, OPS BI, EDP, and other operational data platforms.
- Work with IT and business stakeholders to secure data access, understand data definitions, and ensure data sets are accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose.
- Monitor data flows, validate data connections, and resolve data quality issues by identifying root causes and coordinating corrective actions.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize opportunities to digitize manual workflows and automate recurring technical processes.
- Lead digital and analytics initiatives from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, deployment, handover, and continuous improvement.
- Define project scope, timelines, resource needs, success measures, and delivery plans in collaboration with Technical, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and technologies that improve efficiency, visibility, and data-driven decision-making.
- Promote data literacy, training, adoption, and continuous improvement across the department.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a complex analytical, numerical, business intelligence, or reporting environment; aviation experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platforms and analytics or query tools such as SQL, R, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
- Hands-on experience in data analytics, dashboard development, business intelligence reporting, data modelling, and ETL principles.
- Familiarity with aviation maintenance systems and operational data platforms such as OPS BI and EDP is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Power Automate, Python scripting, or RPA tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, diagnose issues, and recommend practical solutions.
- High attention to detail in validating data, documenting assumptions, maintaining accuracy, and ensuring reports are reliable for decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and proactively drive improvement, digitalization, and automation initiatives from idea to implementation.
