Synopsis

As a Theoretical Knowledge Instructor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality theoretical training that supports the licensing, qualification, and professional development of student pilots, flight crew members, instructors, and examiners.

Working within a regulatory-approved training environment, you will deliver engaging, standardized, and effective training programmes that ensure learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to succeed in their aviation careers. Leveraging your aviation operational background and instructional expertise, you will contribute to maintaining the highest training standards while supporting Etihad Aviation Training’s mission to develop safe, competent, and professional aviation personnel.

Accountabilities

• Deliver theoretical knowledge training in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, approved training syllabi, and Etihad Aviation Training standards.
• Conduct training courses and programmes required to support the licensing, qualification, and development of student pilots, flight crew members, instructors, and examiners.
• Ensure the highest levels of training quality, instructional effectiveness, and standardization are consistently achieved.
• Deliver theoretical knowledge instruction across multiple aviation subjects, utilizing broad operational and academic expertise to support integrated training programmes.
• Work closely with the Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor to address training-related matters and support the successful progression of assigned trainees.
• Facilitate full-time instructional activities, ensuring current regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and training methodologies are incorporated into course delivery.
• Deliver approved lesson plans consistently and in accordance with established company procedures, training manuals, and operational standards.
• Monitor trainee performance and progression, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to promote successful learning outcomes.
• Identify and address trainee performance concerns, ensuring appropriate intervention, escalation, and follow-up where required.
• Maintain accurate and timely training records, reports, and documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture by identifying potential risks and supporting mitigation measures in accordance with Etihad Aviation Training’s Safety Management System and risk assessment processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing training effectiveness, learner engagement, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

Education & Experience

• College degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering theoretical knowledge instruction, preferably within an EASA or GCAA-approved Approved Training Organisation (ATO) conducting Integrated ATPL or MPL programmes.
• Appropriate operational knowledge and background in the subjects to be taught.
• Meets the applicable GCAA regulatory requirements outlined in CAR-FCL and CAR-ORA relating to the position.
• Holds, or has previously held, a professional pilot licence (advantageous).
