Job Description
Synopsis
The Planning Officer is responsible to ensure all cabin maintenance activities are strategically forecasted and planned within the given time frames as defined by the OEMs aircraft maintenance schedules, departmental KPIs and any other relevant publications for their designated fleet.
Accountabilities
- Utilise Planning tools within the department to ensure that all commitments to Service Providers, staff and regulatory authorities are efficiently delivered.
- Operate the Planning tools and associated procedures so as to ensure a consistent approach is adopted to meet the requirements of the national airworthiness regulations and agreed KPI dashboard.
- Support Etihad Maintenance Production Plans to achieve department objectives or goals
- Interface with internal and external departments on all matters relating to Planning. Provide assistance to other departments for planning issues and forecasting of maintenance requirements
- Coordinate, compile and distribute work packages prior/ during maintenance.
- Ensure feedback reporting is forwarded to all relevant departments in a timely manner
- Ensure all documents are completed and checked for correct completion prior to issue and when returned
- To provide communication support for the Planning Engineer
- Perform other duties that may be assigned to them by the Planning Engineer
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum diploma (2 years or more)
- A minimum of 3 years experience in an administration role, preferably within aviation or a Technically comparable field.
- Excellent knowledge of cabin maintenance practices.
- Excellent product knowledge of commercial aircraft BFE. Formal technical training in at least 1 Etihad aircraft types.
- Excellent Crisis / Time management
- Excellent knowledge of engineering standards appropriate for an International airline
- Excellent knowledge of Aviation regulations (e.g. JAA, EASA, FAA and/or UAE GCAA)
- High standard of English language and computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications)
- Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent people skills and ability to expedite tasks in a firm and diplomatic manner, being able to exercise appropriate discretion/manage commercially sensitive data
- GCAA regulations knowledge
