Job Description

Synopsis

Provide global flight editing control for hub and network including seating control and revenue optimization, managing check-in close out activities for efficient hub operations.

Accountabilities

  • Subject matter expert in departure control providing 24/7 support to the hub and all global stations, taking command and control of any ad-hoc situation, evaluate problems and make decisions to recover in a timely manner minimizing any impact to the guest experience or the operation. 
  • The Flight Control Administrator will coordinate with the NOC, Guest Control – Recovery controllers and Airport Operations departments above and below wing (hub and network) during day to day operations.
  • Action flight editing factoring the latest pre-flight editing check list and per current policy ready for check-in activities to commence on time through all channels i.e. local airport check-in, inbound through check-in and self-service channels. 
  • All flight information updated in the departure control system ensuring accuracy and in line with the published schedule.
  • Adhere to procedures to onload and process upgrades of commercial guests into higher cabins in a timely manner to ensure check-in activities and processing of guests at the airport remains efficient. 
  • Number of upgrades processed must be quantified to ensure premium classes are not diluted by excessive upgrades where not required.
  • Activities shall be completed in a timely manner to protect on time departures.
  • Accountable to onload/accept non-commercial travellers in the eligible class of travel in priority order maximising usage of the available capacity. 
  • Close coordination is required with load control/dispatch to uplift maximum payload and non-commercial guests booked on the flight. 
  • Seating for positioning crew or technical support representatives occupying a passenger seat is not to be compromised.
  • Manage seat maps efficiently during editing and monitoring stages to ensure maximum number of guests travelling as families and groups are seated together and maximising potential ancillary seating revenue. 
  • Seating is to be done in accordance to the policies and procedures stipulated in the GSM, safety and comfort is of paramount importance. 
  • Take precautionary action and take control to adjust guest seating where safety could be compromised.
  • Accountable to coordinate with the airport operations team and guest experience stake holders to solution or minimise any negative impact in the event of an aircraft change resulting in downgrading or denied boarding of guests, maintaining guest experience and paying attention to high value guests and guests with special service requests.
  • Coordinate with NOC, Guest Control, Hub team and Load Control during a disruption and managing of ad-hoc flights and situations, as a SME manage with confidence and authority time critical activities to maintain on time performance and acceptance of guests onto alternative flights seamlessly.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years work experience. Preferably within aviation operations or airport hub environment. 
  • Must be an advance departure control system user and must have reservations knowledge.
  • Educated to a minimum of High School certification.
