Job Description
Responsible for effectively managing the performance of the Etihad network and Abu Dhabi Hub, by supervising the activities of operational stakeholders present in the Network Operations Centre and throughout the business. To act as the activation point for the Airline’s Disruption Recovery and Emergency Response Programs and to oversee the safety and security focused culture in all activities via the company’s Safety Management System.
Accountabilities
Responsibility for the efficient daily management of the activities taking place within the Network Operations Centre, overseeing all key decisions and formulating solutions to complex issues.
Have oversight in support of the Network Control Duty Manager for activities within the Abu Dhabi Hub, including but not limited to Ground / Catering / Cargo, ADA, ATC and ADNOC
Address and respond to all safety and security risks which occur within the Business in line with the company Emergency Response Plan and as per the defined Safety Management System.
Supervise the activities of the various Teams within the Network Operations Centre in order to fully understand the status of the Etihad operation from a variety of critical perspectives. Ensuring that policy and procedures as determined by the company Operations Manuals and GCAA regulations are adhered to.
Act as the key point of escalation for all stakeholders, including but not limited to those present in the Network Operations Centre. Dealing with operational events with due regard to safety, guest welfare and cost effective solutions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Educated to degree level ,8 years airline operations experience, with 3 years spent in a supervisory capacity in a similar-sized, hub-based airline.
Accountabilities:
Understand the appropriate and required action for significant incidents, accidents and operational events and escalate through the necessary channels immediately, such as the Incident Management System. Create and publish operational evaluations and reports to the business including the Daily Operational Risk Briefings and Event Logs, holding conference calls and group meetings where required. Establish and constantly review operational contingency plans to ensure they are available if and when required in case of disruption within the network. Respond quickly to unforeseen events, identifying and escalating potential risks to Network Operations Management, whether related to a process, Team member, stakeholder or incident. Provide your Team with support and feedback to ensure that they are following published procedures, enabling them to manage the general operation autonomously and efficiently.
