Job Description
Lead Regional Catering Performance Teams to manage the 24/7/365 operations of both HUB and global Catering partners ensuring they are delivering all products and services as designed in a safe and Halal compliant way. Ensure all menus are delivered in compliance with GE standards and within budget. Track and measure Catering partner performance against agreed metrics providing trend development, improvement progress tracking and benefits realization and capture.
Accountabilities
- Lead Catering Operations team across HUB & OSS worldwide for provision of all flight catering services.
- Manage all Catering partner budget, food safety, hygiene, Halal and Kosher compliance.
- Ensure that all services provided are in line with Etihad Airways Food Safety, Halal, Kosher and operational and galley/equipment loading plans.
- Monitor contractor compliance with AVSEC, Ethics and Compliance and all other related compliance requirements.
- Deliver all tender operational requirements and performance audits to Procurement.
- Participate in Caterer evaluation and menu presentation.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring performance of CCS and OSS Catering partner against agreed metrics and KPIs through use of on-site audits, off-load checks, OCR reports, feedback from other departments, OSS airport teams, NPS etc.
- Identify trends and develop Corrective Action Plans with CCS and Catering partners to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Place orders and requests with catering partners at HUB or OSS to ensure guest onboard service and crew F&B requirements are maintained .
- Allocation of costs to processes (full cost approach & budget management) to implement cost saving/service & quality initiatives, identification of saving opportunities and meal wastage.
- Make day-to-day operational decisions to manage and mitigate operational safety and security-related risks, through effective evaluation and decision-making based on conditions, hazards and threats.
- Keep this as the last item, as it is not currently covered in management authorities elsewhere.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of airline catering processes and procedures to maintain safe and compliant food and services onboard flights.
- Food safety practices and principles and maintaining food in line with Halal requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject or equivalent vocational qualification plus business experience.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English High level of computer literacy (MS Office).
- Ability to analyse and synthesise data to extract opportunities and insights Food Safety and Halal practices.
- Understanding of food allergens 8 years of airline or airline catering experience.
- Minimum 2 years in leadership role.
