Founded in 1997 by a Medical Doctor , Ergomed Plc is dedicated to the development of new drugs to save or improve lives. Operating with a global footprint in over 55 countries, Ergomed has the expertise to manage even the most challenging clinical trials.  Ergomed provides services to over 100 clients in a range of therapy areas but excels in the provision of services for  complex trials in Rare Diseases, Oncology and Neuroscience.

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic lawyer who wants to become a key player in our multinational legal department.  You will be responsible for providing operational and strategic legal advice to management teams at all levels across Ergomed’s fast growing global pharma-services business.  The job will involve working closely with colleagues in the legal team and all other areas of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiates commercial contracts with Ergomed’s clients, hospitals, physicians, consultants and suppliers globally
• Acts as key contact point for clients and internal stakeholders; attends bid defense and kick-off meetings; aligns expectations regarding contracting process and deadlines
• Identifies legal and commercial risks and issues, provides legal advice and opinions, and timely alternative solutions
• Manages and negotiates changes to standard contract language and guidelines; liaising with relevant stakeholders in the business as appropriate
• Ensures maintenance of country specific templates of core commercial agreements, including Master Service Agreements and Clinical Trial Agreements
• Monitors changesof laws and regulations globally, proposing measures maintain compliance and improve contracts and policies
• Provides corporate and employment law advice and support to the business, consulting and coordinating with outside counsel where necessary
• Assists with maintenance and development of Ergomed’s compliance programme and training of Ergomed personnel
• Supports business growth and legal department efficiency through generation of innovative processes, strategic thinking and a focus on continuous improvement

We expect from you:

• Qualified to practice law in Poland or Germany
• Extensive professional experience gained at an international law firm and/or at an in house corporate legal department providing commercial and corporate legal advice, preferably to pharma services, pharmaceutical or life science companies
• Excellent legal drafting skills and substantial experience negotiating and concluding commercial contracts
• Mature commercial and legal judgment, able to see the big picture as well as the detail and strike the right balance that allows the business to meet its strategic goals while effectively managing its legal risk
• Self-starter who takes ownership, with a service-orientated attitude and a commitment to operational excellence and seeing the job through
• Intellectually curious and agile, with the ability to quickly understand complex situations, make sound legal and commercial judgments and the confidence to develop innovative solutions
• Good project management skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong emotional intelligence and a highly cooperative, team orientated working style with an enthusiasm for working in diverse, cross functional and international teams  
• Superior oral and written communication skills and a pride in providing effective, pragmatic and easily understood legal advice to colleagues in other disciplines throughout the business
• Able to manage and work efficiently with outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions
• Fluent oral and written English, Polish and/or German
